Mission

The mission of United in Christ is to promote the reconciliation of all Christians and Christian Churches who profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Messiah through worship, prayer, preaching, teaching, and interdenominational fellowship and to promote the Christian religion. These truths are lived out through the power and the gifts of the Holy Spirit emanating from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Therefore, let there be unity in what necessary, freedom in what is unsettled and in all things charity.
United in Christ is committed to being ecumenical and as such assuring the dignity of each individual and the right to free will decisions in matters of faith. The right to religious freedom has its foundation in the very dignity of the human person, as this dignity is known through the revealed Word of God and by reason itself.  This right of the human person to religious freedom is to be recognized. We promote unity in the church as reconciled diversity recognizing that the church has been divided. As such, we the corporation with the entire Body of Christ long that there may be one Church of God, a Church visible, truly universal and sent forth to the whole world that the world may be converted to the gospel and so be saved, to the glory of God.

JOINT DECLARATION ON THE DOCTRINE OF JUSTIFICATION
by the Lutheran World Federation and the Catholic Church [JDDJ 1999]

We confess together that persons are justified by faith in the gospel “apart from works prescribed by the law” (Rom 3:28). Christ has fulfilled the law and by his death and resurrection has overcome it as the way to salvation. JDDJ (¶ 31)
